MasterChef Sri Lanka has come under fire over the production and attitude of the judges towards the contestants.
In one episode the judges berated the contestants saying their dishes were of poor quality and not good enough for MasterChef.
The judges include internationally renowned chef, restaurateur, television presenter and author Peter Kuruvita.
The judges also include MasterChef Australia Top 3 finalist and private chef Savindri “Sav” Perera.
One judge asked a Tamil contestant if she understood what he said and added “Nalla Illai” which in Tamil means “not good”.
While some viewers were of the opinion it was all scripted for reality television, others said it was more like Gordon Ramsay’s ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ than MasterChef.
MasterChef Sri Lanka is part of a competitive cooking reality television series that airs in America, the UK and Australia.
