Sri Lankan-born entrepreneur Rosh Kumarasinghe has made history, becoming the first South Asian beauty brand to sponsor designers on the main schedule of London Fashion Week (LFW).
This season, Beauty by Rosh, partnered with four designers, placing it alongside some of the world’s most recognized beauty houses. For a brand just five years old, this is a remarkable milestone for both Beauty by Rosh and South Asian representation on the global fashion stage.
Securing sponsorships at London Fashion Week is no small feat. Main schedule designers, curated by the British Fashion Council, have full creative control over their shows; from venue selection to model casting and backstage teams. For an independent, founder-owned brand to step into this elite circle, alongside global beauty giants such as Bobbi Brown, Charlotte Tilbury, MAC Cosmetics and Byredo is an extraordinary accomplishment.
During her debut at LFW, Beauty by Rosh partnered with designers Bora Aksu, Pippa Todorson, Aadnevik, and Dahlia Razzook, providing not just products but also direct support backstage for makeup and skincare. These partnerships involved full sponsorship agreements, including monetary contributions, reflecting the brand’s professionalism and commitment to excellence.
For Rosh, the experience was both a professional and personal milestone. “Being part of London Fashion Week, working with incredible designers, and seeing the shows from the front row was unforgettable. It was a great learning experience and an amazing opportunity to understand how a major fashion week operates,” she said.
“As an Australia-based, independent brand being the first Australian makeup company to sponsor main schedule designers at LFW, in addition to being the first South Asian beauty brand to partner this show was a proud moment for me,” she added.
Rosh’s journey, from growing up in Sri Lanka to building a pioneering, independent brand based in Australia, is a testament to determination, vision, and entrepreneurial spirit. She takes pride in having built the brand from the ground up since moving to Australia and continues to manage marketing, branding, customer support, and product development herself, remaining hands-on in every aspect of the business.
Her presence at LFW highlights the growing influence of South Asian talent in the global beauty industry and inspires other founder-led brands to aim high.
With this historic achievement, Beauty by Rosh not only strengthens its international profile but also brings pride to Sri Lanka and the region, proving that ambition, hands-on dedication, and passion can break barriers at the very top of the fashion and beauty world.
