A Japanese woman has said “I Do” to an AI generated character which was customised using ChatGPT.
Yurina Noguchi, 32, a call centre operator, married the AI character after ending her relationship with her human partner.
Noguchi had sought advice from ChatGPT before ending her engagement to her partner.
She then created a digital version of Klaus, a video game character, and customized it to meet her requirements.
Noguchi and her AI partner shared over 100 messages before they got married, a move which has drawn wide debate on social media.
The marriage itself is not legal under Japanese law and so is not recognized/
At the wedding ceremony Noguchi wore a pink dress while her AI husband was on a mobile phone.
Noguchi also wore smart glasses at the wedding ceremony to exchange rings with her AI partner.
Photographs of the wedding ceremony published by Reuters showed Noguchi in tears.
