Ariana Grande was shaken but was “okay” following an incident in Singapore where a serial prankster grabbed her at the premiere of Wicked: For Good.
The actress was quoted as saying she was okay after Australian prankster Johnson Wen jumped the fence and grabbed her on the red carpet.
Grande posted photos on her Instagram following the premiere but didn’t draw attention to the incident.
Her co-star Cynthia Erivo, who rushed to protect her, also thanked Singapore, in a post on Instagram.
Cynthia Erivo was seen quickly pushing Johnson Wen away and protecting Grande before the security grabbed him and threw him back over the fence.
Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum were walking together on the red carpet at the Universal Studios Singapore event when the incident took place.
The Australian man was arrested outside Universal Studios in Singapore and was later charged, before being released.
Known as “pyjamamann” on Instagram, the intruder has crashed events in the past as well.
He jumped on stage during a Katy Perry concert in Sydney in June and posted on Instagram saying “Dear Katy Perry thanks for letting me Dance on Stage 💙 you made my Childhood Memmory since 2008 💙 I Dreamed about meeting you!! And now it has happened”.
Wen also crashed The Weeknd’s show before he was grabbed by security and taken off stage.
Meanwhile, Wicked co-star Marissa Bode slammed fans who crash events and the stage for hits on social media.
She said that such fans get views and hits but also make someone else feel unsafe.
