Sri Lanka’s first and only health food restaurant chain, Calorie Counter, proudly celebrates a decade of empowering healthier lifestyles this October — marking 10 years of transforming the nation’s approach to clean eating, fitness, and holistic wellness.
To commemorate this milestone, Calorie Counter is hosting the “Live Strong Sri Lanka – Festival of Health & Fitness 2025” — a powerful one-day celebration of movement, health, and community taking place on Saturday, October 25 from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Independence Arcade, Colombo 07.
The event forms the grand finale of the Every Step Counts Challenge — a nationwide movement encouraging Sri Lankans to stay active, burn calories, and contribute toward a national cause. Throughout October, participants have been tracking their physical activity — walking, running, cycling, swimming, lifting, and dancing — all adding up to one powerful goal: a healthier nation.
Calories for a Cause
In a unique and meaningful initiative, the total calories burned on the 25 of October will be converted into a cash equivalent donation to support the Directorate of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) of Sri Lanka. This bold gesture aligns with Calorie Counter’s decade-long commitment to improving public health, raising awareness about NCD prevention, and promoting the importance of an active lifestyle.

A Decade of Purpose
Founded in 2015 by entrepreneur and wellness advocate Duaine Peiris, Calorie Counter began as a small restaurant built on a personal story of transformation — his own journey of losing over 50 kilograms through nutrition and discipline.A decade later, the brand has grown into a multi-branch health and wellness platform spanning Sri Lanka and overseas, inspiring thousands to eat healthy, stay healthy, and live strong.
“We didn’t want to celebrate 10 years with just a party. We wanted to celebrate by making a difference — by moving together as a nation, burning calories for a cause, and showing that wellness can be joyful, communal, and purpose-driven,” says Duaine Peiris, Founder and Managing Director of Calorie Counter.
